Supreme Court Security Tightened, Metro Bus Service Limited Amidst Lawyers’ Protest Threat

Islamabad: In anticipation of a potential protest by lawyers, security around the Supreme Court has been significantly tightened, while the metro bus service in the twin cities has been limited. Heavy police presence has been deployed within the Supreme Court complex, and only Margalla Road remains open for access to the Supreme Court.
Due to the closure of entry points to the Red Zone, severe traffic jams have been reported at Kashmir Chowk. Other key areas including Serena Chowk, NADRA, Marriott, Express Chowk, and T-Cross near Bari Imam have been blocked, with the Jinnah Underpass also closed off with containers.
In light of the possible protest, the Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus service has been partially suspended. The metro bus service is closed from Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station to Pakistan Secretariat, while the service between Rawalpindi Saddar Station and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station remains operational.
Metro administration has clarified that the suspension of services in Islamabad is due to security concerns.
