Islamabad (Qudrat Newspaper): The Supreme Court’s seven-member bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, has commenced hearings on petitions challenging trials of civilians in military courts. Justice Jamal Khan Mando Khel remarked that during Jinnah’s final days, his house in Lahore was also set on fire, revealing intriguing details from the records.
The court scheduled the next hearing for July 11th, 2024, to continue deliberations on the matter.
Today’s Court Proceedings:
The court issued an order today allowing the Lahore High Court Bar Association’s request to become a party in the case. Faisal Siddiqui clarified that he does not wish to pursue direct allegations in the media, while Hafizullah Niazi confirmed his son’s arrest, mentioning that family meetings with the accused had already been resolved.
In response to allegations of family meetings, Attorney General urged the court to dismiss such complaints. He indicated that should our appeal be accepted, the accused can appeal against the decisions to the military courts, in addition to the High Court and Supreme Court.
Justice Jamal Khan Mando Khel engaged in a conversation with Balochistan’s Advocate General, who had appealed against the military court’s decision, regarding Jinnah’s final days where even Jinnah House in Lahore was set ablaze. Discussions on the incident at Jinnah’s residence will unfold in the future, along with Shahda Foundation’s whereabouts.
The court approved Shahda Foundation’s request to become a party to the case.
The court also accepted Hameed Khan’s request to become a party in the Lahore High Court Bar.

Salman Akram Raja has disclosed that the family has not been allowed to meet the accused for the past 5 weeks, and Laeeq Khosa has expressed concern that the accused is being kept in poor conditions. Upon this, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail inquired how it could be known that the accused is being held in poor conditions if no meeting took place. The response was that those who met initially had reported that their hands were tied, and those accused who had meetings were in shackles. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail stated that if the accused are kept in such a way, it is wrong.
Intezaz Ahsan said that Jalib had also said the same thing in jail about the meeting, ‘Where was the meeting when there was mourning for conditions’. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail commented that we are not familiar with poetry; let the real case proceed.
Hafizullah Niazi informed the court that the last meeting with his son took place due to the court’s kindness. My miscellaneous request is that the number be assigned to the related son. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said that we are currently hearing the appeal. Justice Aminuddin said that if your request is not accepted, how many requests will come and the actual case will continue. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail said that it would be better to proceed with this case and make a decision.
