Quetta:Manir Ahmad Kakar, advocate and presidential hopeful of the Supreme Court Bar Association, has criticized the prolonged delay in reviewing the petition related to the August 8 incident, pending in the Supreme Court for four years. Kakar expressed concern that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa appears indifferent to this injustice, questioning whether this neglect is not an act of injustice against the families of 57 lawyers from Balochistan who were martyred or injured.
He further stated that despite the submission of a petition for review regarding the incident at Quetta’s Civil Hospital by a commission, unfortunate delays have prevented its hearing in the Supreme Court. Kakar raised issues of disparity, highlighting that while one decision from four to five years ago received detailed attention, another crucial decision is yet to be addressed.
Kakar criticized the Chief Justice for not promptly addressing cases under review, contrasting this with the handling of other cases. He questioned whether this selective approach serves to appease powerful entities, suggesting a double standard that is regrettable.
Despite his connections to Balochistan, the Chief Justice’s silence on these matters raises significant questions. Kakar posed whether the Chief Justice is truly representative of Balochistan’s interests or is only interested in leveraging Balochistan’s resources for personal gains.
