Indian actress and dancer Sunny Leone, who entered the Indian entertainment industry 14 years ago, has made a distinct mark with her performances in Bollywood, South Indian films, and dance numbers. In a recent interview, she opened up about her initial days in the industry when she faced rejection and how she eventually carved her path to success in Bollywood.
Recalling her entry into the Indian entertainment scene, Sunny Leone shared how she felt extremely nervous when considering joining the famous Indian reality show *Bigg Boss*. At that time, she faced strong opposition, with some people being against her participation. She revealed that despite being initially slated to join the show at the start, she was brought in as a *wild card* contestant due to the opposition. Sunny admitted that at one point, she doubted her decision, but in the end, the love and support she received from the audience surprised her.
This reality show proved to be a great platform for Sunny, and soon after, in 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with *Jism 2*. She went on to appear in other popular films such as *Ragini MMS 2* (2014), *Ek Paheli Leela* (2015), and *Mastizaade* (2016).
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I’ve learned that the key is to keep working and ignore the irrelevant noise around you. Staying consistent is essential.” She added that while there were some scary moments in her life, there were also some incredibly beautiful experiences.
When speaking about Bollywood, Sunny Leone emphasized the importance of long-term dedication, saying, “If you keep working, put in the effort, and make your presence felt, opportunities keep coming.” She also mentioned how, when she’s cast in a project, her fans add more value and significance to it.
In recent times, Sunny has appeared in films such as *Kennedy*, *Quotation Gang*, and *Shero*, which have always been her aspirations. However, she hasn’t been seen in any major dance numbers in Bollywood recently. When asked if she misses performing on hit songs, she responded, “Absolutely, I miss it. When I danced in those songs, they really gave strength to the film. The movie would be good, but then that song would make it even better.” She expressed her gratitude for having been a part of such iconic tracks that are still popular today.
Highlighting the importance of social media, Sunny Leone shared her thoughts on how building an identity on social platforms is crucial. “If you love dancing or showcasing any form of art, keep doing it. It helps you stand out during auditions.” She further added that social media can give an additional advantage during auditions, saying, “You can tell them, ‘I have a large following on social media, so I can enhance the brand value of your project.’” She pointed out that in today’s entertainment world, social media has become an integral part of any contract, and it can’t be overlooked when signing agreements.
