Sunni Scholars in Quetta Emphasize on the Finality of Prophethood in Islam
Quetta:In a joint statement issued recently, the Sunni Scholars Council of Quetta, led by prominent figures including Allama Abdul Rahim Sajid, Qari Muhammad Ayub Ansari, Maulana Maqbool Rahman Shah, Maulana Fazl Ahmed Sadiqi, Muhammad Asif Mengal, Qari Nazir Ahmed Farooqi, Shakil Ahmed Gujjar, and Mir Abdul Malik Rind, reaffirmed the significance of Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) finality in prophethood as a cornerstone of Islamic faith and mercy for humanity.
The statement highlighted that the seal of prophethood holds utmost respect and reverence in Islam, closing the door to any future prophets. Denial of a true prophet jeopardizes one’s faith, just as recognition of a false prophet deprives one of true belief. The scholars emphasized that this belief is fundamental to the faith inherited from the companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stressing that deviation from this path is a departure from true faith.
Quoting from the Holy Quran, the scholars asserted that adherence to this belief is a mark of guidance, as stated: “If you love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.”
The statement concluded with a call to uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to safeguard the purity of Islamic faith against any deviation.
