Islamabad:The parliamentary party of Sunni Ittehad Council has accepted an agreement while rejecting the decision to allow phone tapping in the name of security. In a session, it was decided not to uphold the decision to permit phone tapping.
During the parliamentary party meeting of Sunni Ittehad Council, opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan’s arrest by Islamabad and Mianwali police was denounced in the agreement. The agreement stated that Omar Ayub’s arrest is an insult to the opposition leader’s office.
According to the agreement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), under the current government, will not retreat from its constitutional rights through such actions. PTI, under the leadership of its founder Chairman Imran Khan, stands united.
The parliamentary party strongly condemns the inhumane treatment towards PTI’s Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The Election Commission’s decision to remove electoral symbols has not only harmed PTI candidates but also deprived voters of their rights.
PTI hopes that the Supreme Court will soon announce a verdict on cases under special seats.
