Quetta:The price of sugar in the wholesale market of Quetta has seen a significant increase, with the cost of a 50-kilogram sugar bag rising by Rs. 300. As a result, the price of a 50kg bag of sugar has reached Rs. 6,750, marking a substantial hike as the new year begins.
According to details, the price of sugar has increased by Rs. 6 per kilogram, pushing the total price of a 50kg sugar bag to Rs. 6,750. Wholesale market traders are currently purchasing sugar at Rs. 140 per kilogram, as reported by the Universal News Agency (UNA). The price surge has also led to concerns over further increases in the open market, with predictions of an additional Rs. 12 per kilogram rise in the coming days.
This price hike has sparked worries among consumers, especially as the cost of essential commodities continues to rise, making it harder for the public to manage household expenses.
