Quetta: Negotiations between the families of missing persons and government representatives in Quetta have concluded successfully, resulting in the cessation of a sit-in protest for 15 days. At Hakeem Chowk in Quetta, relatives of the missing engaged in discussions with the government delegation. Following written agreements between Yasmeen Abdullah, sister of missing activist Zaheer Baloch, and government officials, the sit-in was postponed for a period of 15 days.
It was mutually agreed that a case regarding Zaheer Baloch’s disappearance will be registered against unidentified individuals under Section 302. All demonstrators arrested on July 11 will be released and cases closed, while those involved in vandalism on July 13 will face legal consequences to ensure no connection to the families of missing persons.
Belongings of the Baloch Unity Council protesters will be returned, and a joint committee will be established for the recovery of Zaheer Baloch, expected to present a report within 15 days. No sit-ins will be staged during this period, with all legal requirements for future protests and demonstrations to be adhered to.
