Student Takes Legal Action Against NADRA for ID Card Issuance
Islamabad: A student from Orangi Town, Karachi, named Anshira has filed a lawsuit against NADRA officials for failing to issue her a national identity card. Anshira’s father was murdered in 2017, and her mother is currently out on bail after being implicated in the case.
According to Anshira’s lawyer, Usman Farooq, NADRA is refusing to process the ID card application without parental consent, despite the ongoing legal issues. He argues that NADRA has the authority to issue an ID card based on the biometric data of other relatives.
The lawyer highlighted that the lack of an ID card is severely impacting Anshira’s education, as she has completed her intermediate studies but is unable to enroll in a university without the necessary identification.
