Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi Talks US Visit, Counter-Terrorism Efforts, and Economic Cooperation

Islamabad:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, has stated that his recent visit to the United States included comprehensive and friendly discussions with the Trump administration. In an exclusive interview with Geo News, Fatemi emphasized that despite the change in U.S. leadership, the core issues between countries remain largely unchanged.
Fatemi highlighted that the cooperation between Pakistan and the U.S. on regional challenges, especially regarding counter-terrorism, has been meaningful. He pointed out that significant statements from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding terrorism have been made, and Pakistan has clearly conveyed to the U.S. that it will not tolerate terrorism. Recently, Pakistan handed over a key terrorist sought by the U.S., a move that was praised by President Trump.
Fatemi also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Pakistani people and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.
Additionally, Fatemi noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is keen on enhancing economic cooperation with neighboring countries. He mentioned that there is a strong possibility of significant foreign investment flowing into Pakistan in the next three to six months.
