Speaker of Balochistan Assembly Hails 2024 General Elections as Shining Example of Democracy

Quetta: In a recent statement, Speaker of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly, Captain (retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, commended the 2024 general elections as a remarkable demonstration of the democratic process. He emphasized that these elections were a symbol of transparency, neutrality, and public trust. He congratulated the Election Commission of Pakistan and all associated institutions for ensuring the conduct of free, fair, and successful elections.*
The Speaker further stated that the current federal and provincial governments are committed to serving the public, having already achieved significant success in governance, development projects, and maintaining law and order in a short period. He assured that the development and prosperity journey in Balochistan is being accelerated, and insha’Allah, this progress will continue.
However, he also criticized certain political figures who, despite being elected in the assemblies and receiving salaries, continue to raise questions about the democratic process. These individuals, he claimed, were accustomed to gaining power through backdoor dealings and had, in the past, risen to leadership positions through rigging and conspiracies. The Speaker warned the public to be cautious of such elements, as they prioritize personal gains over the common good.
Speaker Achakzai reaffirmed the government’s ongoing commitment to the development and prosperity of Balochistan and Chaman. He emphasized that the government will complete its constitutional term and ensure the protection of the public’s rights. In terms of security, he assured that the government would spare no effort in dealing with anti-national elements and any force, whether internal or external, that seeks to harm Pakistan would face failure.
Achakzai concluded by stating that Pakistan is emerging as a strong and sovereign nation under the leadership of the Muslim world and will remain steadfast for generations to come. He called on those unhappy with the election results to either resign from the assemblies or focus solely on Pakistan’s interests within the sacred halls of the nation’s parliament. His final words echoed, *“In these halls, only one slogan will resonate: Pakistan Zindabad.”*
