South Africa’s Gerald Coetzee Injured Ahead of ICC Champions Trophy

Islamabad:South Africa’s preparations for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy have taken a hit as fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has sustained a hamstring injury.
Recently, South Africa announced their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, with Anrich Nortje initially included. However, Nortje was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Coetzee was named as his replacement in the squad, but now, with his own injury, his participation in the tournament has become uncertain.
According to media reports, a decision on Coetzee’s availability for the event in Pakistan will be made in the first week of February. Cricket South Africa’s medical team will closely monitor his recovery.
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19, and will be held across Pakistan and the UAE.
