Smog Included in Educational Curriculum: Maryam Aurangzeb
Lahore: Senior Minister of Punjab, Maryam Aurangzeb, announced that smog has been incorporated into the educational curriculum. She made this statement during a meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where they discussed various measures to combat smog.
Aurangzeb emphasized that smog cannot be eliminated overnight and it would take at least 10 years to tackle the issue effectively. She also mentioned that the provincial government is working on the e-Mis Transit program in collaboration with the World Bank.
The minister revealed that six Air Quality Index (AQI) monitors have been installed to track smog levels. Furthermore, efforts are underway to assist factories in installing emission control systems. To support farmers, she stated that 1,000 super seeders have been provided at a 60% subsidy.
