Sindh Announces Expansion of Safe City Project; More Cities to Be Included
Karachi: The Sindh government has announced an expansion of its Safe City Project, which will now include additional cities. The provincial Minister for Interior, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ziaul Hassan Lanjhar, visited Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, where officials briefed him on the integration of body-worn cameras, smart devices, smartwatches, and tablets with smart boards for the rapid transmission of information and reduced response times.
During the visit, the importance of an exclusive LTE network for Sindh Police was also discussed. The briefing focused on how smart technology can enhance the performance of police operations, enabling more efficient law enforcement.
Minister Lanjhar also revealed plans to extend the Safe City Project to include Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Mirpur Khas. During the visit, discussions were held to further strengthen the relationship between Huawei and the Sindh Home Department, with the progress of the Safe City Project highlighted. The Director-General of Safe Cities and Huawei’s Vice President also signed agreements during the visit.
