Islamabad: Anchorperson Shifa Yousafzai has finally addressed the swirling rumors about her alleged marriage to politician Hamad Azhar. In a post on the social media platform X, she clarified, “Dear friends, I have not married anyone. I am being targeted unnecessarily on social media.”
Yousafzai emphasized that the reports circulating about her are false, stating, “There is a pointless discussion happening on social media regarding me.” She further highlighted the challenges faced by women in a male-dominated society, noting that women often have to validate their existence, especially those who are career-oriented.
This is not the first time she has faced such scrutiny; Yousafzai mentioned that she has previously encountered similar situations. She urged all social media platforms to remove the misleading content and called on respectful men and women to refrain from participating in this baseless campaign. She also expressed gratitude to those who have supported her.
The rumors began circulating after journalist Najam ul Hassan Bajwa claimed that a handsome senior official from the PTI in Lahore had recently married a female journalist, leading social media users to speculate about Yousafzai. In response, Hamad Azhar humorously replied, “Thank you for considering me handsome, but I will inform everyone in advance if something happens.”
This incident highlights the challenges faced by public figures, especially women, in navigating personal rumors and societal expectations.
