Shibli Faraz Files Contempt of Court Petition Against Denial of Meeting with Imran Khan

Islamabad:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz has filed a contempt of court petition against the denial of permission to meet party founder Imran Khan in jail.

In a statement, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Umar Ayub Khan, revealed that despite repeated attempts over the past two and a half months, they have not been allowed to meet Imran Khan. He added that Imran Khan himself provides a list of people who wish to meet him, but they are still denied access.

Shibli Faraz, in his petition, questioned the denial of the meeting, pointing out that if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur could meet Imran Khan, then the party leadership should also be allowed the same privilege. Faraz expressed confusion as to why the leadership of the party was being denied access.

It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, Barrister Saif, had a long meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail recently.

The political tension surrounding the issue continues to escalate as PTI members and leadership raise their voices against the restrictions placed on their meetings with Imran Khan.
