Shah Rukh Khan Wins Best Actor at IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi:Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made headlines at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards held in Abu Dhabi, where he won the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in the film “Jawan.”
In addition to his win, Khan also took on the role of host for the event, using a teleprompter during the proceedings, which led to a flurry of reactions on social media. Users commented on the common practice of using teleprompters at award shows, with one user humorously suggesting that Khan should be appointed as India’s Prime Minister given his hosting skills.
Another user pointed out that the use of teleprompters in award ceremonies has been standard for over two decades, while a third user expressed gratitude for the reminder that these events are often scripted.
The glamorous IIFA Awards 2024 celebrated many prominent figures from Indian cinema, including Rani Mukerji, Ranbir Kapoor for “Animal,” Hema Malini, and Anil Kapoor, among others.
In his acceptance speech, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his joy at being back at the IIFA, stating, “It’s great to be here again. I love awards.” He noted that the IIFA has been a wonderful part of his journey in Indian cinema, and this year felt particularly special as he returned to work after a long break.
