Shah Rukh Khan Voices Mufasa in Hindi Version of The Lion King Prequel
Islamabad: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to lend his voice to the character of Mufasa in the Hindi version of Disney’s upcoming prequel Mufasa: The Lion King. The film, directed by Barry Jenkins, will explore Mufasa’s journey from childhood to becoming king of the Pride Lands, and is set to release on December 20 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
In a newly released poster, Shah Rukh Khan shared his connection with Mufasa’s character, comparing it to a famous line from his recent film Jawan, “Before touching my son, talk to the father,” drawing a parallel to Mufasa’s protective nature. Khan also revealed that the role is especially meaningful to him, as his childhood hair resembled the iconic mane of Mufasa.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, will voice the character of Simba in the Hindi version, making it a family affair. Shah Rukh shared that his decision to join the project was partly motivated by his desire to work alongside Aryan, marking a significant milestone in their professional relationship.
Mufasa: The Lion King is highly anticipated by fans worldwide and promises to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved story, featuring stunning animation and a talented voice cast.
