Lahore: Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been transferred under tight security from Adiala Jail to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore will conduct a hearing today at Kot Lakhpat Jail. Sources from the jail administration revealed that Shah Mahmood Qureshi will be presented before the court in connection with cases related to the incident on May 9 in Lahore.
A JIT (Joint Investigation Team) of Lahore Police had completed investigations against Shah Mahmood Qureshi in various terrorism-related cases at Adiala Jail, after which he was scheduled to appear before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore.
Barrister Taimur Malik, legal counsel for Shah Mahmood Qureshi, stated that the Anti-Terrorism Court in Kot Lakhpat Jail will conduct hearings on the May 9 cases.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi will appear before the court at Kot Lakhpat Jail, following which a decision will be made whether he will be kept in Lahore or Adiala Jail, as per judicial orders. His legal team has also traveled to Lahore.
