Quetta: The provincial capital of Quetta is grappling with severe road conditions that are creating significant difficulties for its residents. The streets are overwhelmed with piles of garbage and stagnant sewage water, making pedestrian travel extremely challenging. Areas such as Munir Mengal Road, Ghousabad, Satellite Town, and Pashtoonabad are particularly affected by the dilapidated state of the roads.
Due to the absence of an effective sewage system, dirty water from drains is flowing onto the streets, exacerbating the problem. The poor condition of the roads is causing major inconveniences for both businesses and residents. Traffic on Saryab Road is being diverted through Satellite Town and Munir Mengal Road due to ongoing protests, leading to frequent traffic accidents.
The situation has severely disrupted adjacent areas, and dust pollution has reached such levels that breathing has become difficult. Residents, including children, the elderly, and women, are suffering from respiratory illnesses. The citizens of Quetta have appealed to the Chief Minister and elected officials to take urgent measures to improve the roads and alleviate the public’s suffering.
