Karachi: Senior provincial minister Shajeel Inam Memon has underscored that while every group has the right to engage in politics, there exists a clear distinction between politics and terrorism.
During a media interaction, Memon mentioned that the federal government intends to address the issue of imposing restrictions on political parties in the cabinet. He emphasized that while every group is entitled to participate in politics, not everything is permissible in the realm of political activities.
Memon questioned the circumstances surrounding peaceful protests, noting the contradiction when such protests result in violent incidents like the burning of 20 ambulances in Karachi. He also stated that the Pakistan People’s Party would not support Governor Raj in any province, asserting the importance of due process in all matters.
Highlighting the grave difference between politics and terrorism, Memon indicated that the federal government would take a serious approach if necessary. He recalled past incidents such as the tragic loss of lives during peaceful strikes in Karachi and urged for peaceful means of protest.
The senior minister concluded by affirming that ensuring peace and security is a crucial responsibility of the government.
