Senior Balochistan Politician Jan Jamali Criticizes Current Political Landscape and Calls for Inclusion of Senior Politicians in Assemblies

Quetta/Osta Muhammad:Former Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, **Jan Jamali**, has expressed deep concern over the current state of Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, and emphasized the need for more experienced politicians to be part of the decision-making process. He stated that the country is facing significant challenges, and the situation in Balochistan is particularly worrisome. He expressed his love for the Pakistan Army but also stressed that the country needs genuine politicians rather than contractors to address its ongoing crises.

Speaking during a tea party held in honor of **Pir Pagara**, the spiritual leader of the Hur community, **Pir Sibghatullah Shah**, Jan Jamali shared his thoughts with the **UNA News Agency**. He stated, “Pakistan’s condition is not ideal, and seeing the current situation in Balochistan saddens me deeply. Our country needs experienced politicians in the assemblies, not contractors, to steer it out of the ongoing crises.”

Jamali pointed out that the country’s economy is heavily reliant on agriculture, and the increasing taxes on the farming community are creating significant distress among farmers. He emphasized that the government’s disregard for the economic struggles of the agricultural sector could have long-term detrimental effects on the national economy. “If farmers are economically crushed, it will be impossible for the country to recover,” he remarked.

Addressing the issue of water distribution between **Sindh** and **Balochistan**, Jamali urged the **federal government** to take the matter seriously and ensure equitable water allocation, as both provinces are vital for the country’s agricultural output. “The economy depends on agriculture, and if we neglect this sector, we cannot expect economic growth,” he said.

Regarding the current political environment in Pakistan, Jamali criticized the increasing presence of contractors in the assemblies, stating, “There are fewer politicians and more contractors in the assemblies. Contractors cannot bring positive change; they lack the vision required to lead the country.” He further stressed that **genuine politicians** with the experience and capabilities to tackle the crises should be given the opportunity to lead and contribute to solving the economic and political challenges Pakistan is facing.

Jan Jamali also voiced concerns over the lack of merit-based recruitment for the country’s youth. He pointed out that many talented and hardworking young people are being overlooked in favor of favorites and politically connected individuals. “If we do not give opportunities to our deserving youth, they will be deprived of their rightful place in society, which may push them toward wrong paths,” he said. He called for a merit-based recruitment system that would ensure talented youth are given the opportunity to contribute positively to the country’s development.

Concluding his remarks, Jamali reiterated his support for the Pakistan Army but emphasized the need for a proper political framework to run the country effectively. “The country needs seasoned politicians who can lead Pakistan to prosperity and stability, making it part of the world’s developed nations,” he concluded.
