Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi Raises Concerns Over Use of Tear Gas in Quetta Protest
Quetta:During a media briefing in Quetta, Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi of the National Party expressed serious concerns over the dispersal of protesters in Gwadar using tear gas, fearing further escalation of the situation. He highlighted that while the constitution guarantees the right to peaceful assembly and protest, attempts are being made by authorities to turn peaceful protests into violent confrontations.
Senator Buledi criticized the political management in Balochistan and called on the federal government to take note of non-democratic and non-political tactics being employed. He urged the central leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party to intervene and prevent any atrocities by a specific group. Concerned about the deteriorating situation in Balochistan, he warned of dire consequences in the future.
