Senate Approves Strict Punishments for Human Trafficking, Begging, and Sending Minors for Prostitution

Islamabad:The Senate has passed three bills aimed at imposing severe penalties on individuals involved in human trafficking, forcing people to beg, and sending underage girls abroad for prostitution.
The session, presided over by Chairperson Sherry Rehman, saw a delay in the question hour due to the absence of ministers and members. Federal Law and Justice Minister Azam Nazir Tarar presented three separate amendment bills, outlining tough punishments for those involved in these heinous crimes.
The proposed amendments include sentences of three to 10 years in prison, along with fines, for those found guilty of human trafficking. Additionally, the masterminds behind the smuggling of people for begging abroad will also face penalties. The Senate approved all three bills, marking a significant step toward strengthening the country’s laws against these crimes.
