Islamabad:Following the end of summer vacations, all government and private schools in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan have resumed classes today. Government schools will operate five days a week.
**Punjab**
In Punjab, schools reopen today after the summer break, with government schools open five days a week. According to the Education Department’s notification, government schools will be open from 8 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Double-shift schools will have the first shift from 8 AM to 12:30 PM and the second shift from 1 PM to 5 PM. On Fridays, schools will operate from 8 AM to 12 PM, and weekends will be off. Male teachers will be at school from 8 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Thursday, and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturdays. Female teachers will leave by 2:30 PM to manage household responsibilities, with a notification to be issued soon.
**Sindh**
In Sindh, including Karachi, both private and government schools have reopened today, marking the end of summer vacations. The academic year has started again, restoring the lively atmosphere in educational institutions after the two-and-a-half-month break. Students, who enjoyed their summer vacation, returned to school with renewed energy. With the reopening of schools, traffic flow on roads in the morning has also returned to normal. Students shared that they spent their vacation traveling, visiting relatives, and completing homework, and are now back to their regular routine.
Due to anticipated rain, the Sindh Education Department extended the holidays until August 15, rather than the original end date of August 1. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced the introduction of a teacher licensing policy and other reforms in the province, emphasizing the continuation of educational reforms. The Education Department of Sindh has completed the necessary preparations for the new academic year and extended best wishes to students for the start of the new term.
