Saudi Arabia’s First Lawyer Dr. Mutlab Al-Nafisa Passes Away
Dr. Mutlab Al-Nafisa, Saudi Arabia’s first lawyer, has passed away. According to the Royal Court, his funeral prayers were offered on Friday after the Asr prayer at the King Khalid Mosque in Riyadh.
Dr. Al-Nafisa served as a legal advisor to the Saudi Cabinet and held several significant government positions, including serving as a Minister of State and a member of the Cabinet.
Born in 1937 in the Qassim province, Dr. Al-Nafisa completed his law degree at Cairo University in 1962. He was later awarded a scholarship to study in the United States, where he earned both his Master’s and Doctorate in Law from Harvard University.
His contributions to Saudi Arabia’s legal landscape and his pioneering role as the first Saudi lawyer remain a significant part of the nation’s history.
