Saima Baloch’s Sister Condemns Corruption in Teacher Appointments, Demands Justice for Affected Candidates

Kharan:In a press conference held at the Kharan Press Club, Sabah Noor Baloch, a medical student and sister of Saima Baloch—one of the candidates affected by the recent SBK (Sindh Balochistan) exams—condemned the corruption involved in the hiring process for teaching posts in Kharan. Sabah Noor Baloch stated that the provincial government had previously decided to appoint teachers to vacant posts after a Supreme Court ruling, but once again, corruption has marred the process and violated merit-based recruitment.

Sabah Noor explained that her sister, Saima, who had qualified based on merit for the Junior Arabic Teacher post in the Municipal Committee, had been unjustly removed from the list. Due to this injustice, Saima was unable to attend the press conference herself as she was suffering from health issues caused by the stress. Saima, a Hafiz and Alam, had worked tirelessly to pass the exams, yet her name was inexplicably removed, even though she had earned a place according to merit.

Initially, there were five Arabic teacher posts in the Kharan district, which were later reduced to three. The reduction in posts, Sabah Noor argued, was due to the inability of impoverished students from religious schools to pay hefty bribes, unlike others who were able to secure their positions through corrupt practices. She accused several individuals of securing their posts through bribery, including those who had failed the test or were absent during the examination.

The Baloch family claims they have documentary evidence of these irregularities, including the involvement of District Education Officer (DEO) Nooruz Muskanzai and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kharan, who allegedly accepted money to include recommended individuals in the final list. Sabah Noor also revealed that Saima’s name had been shifted from the Municipal Committee to the Tehsil level under a deliberate conspiracy.

Furthermore, the family had filed complaints with the District Education Officer and DC, but their grievances were ignored. Despite approaching the authorities, they were openly challenged by the DC, who allegedly told them that they were free to go wherever they wanted.

Sabah Noor emphasized the detrimental impact this corruption would have on the future of education in the region, fearing that the next generation would face destruction in terms of educational standards. She pointed out that 99% of the positions had been filled with unqualified individuals who had paid bribes, further eroding the quality of education in the district.

The family holds DEO Nooruz Muskanzai responsible for this systemic corruption and calls for immediate action and justice. They warned that if no action is taken, they would be forced to stage a sit-in at the Red Zone in Kharan to demand accountability.
