Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently injured in an attack at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, has addressed the rumors surrounding the incident and his quick recovery. In a recent interview, the 54-year-old actor discussed the attack and the speculations that followed, including claims that the incident was staged for drama.
On January 16, after the attack, Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital in a rickshaw, as no driver was available at his residence. When asked how it was possible for a celebrity’s home to lack drivers, Saif explained, “No one stays here overnight. Everyone has their own homes. Some people live in our house, but not the drivers.” He further clarified, “I was fully conscious at the time and didn’t want to wait for a driver to arrive.”
There was also public curiosity surrounding Saif’s swift recovery, with some questioning the severity of the incident, as he was discharged from the hospital just five days later despite undergoing two major surgeries. Saif addressed these concerns, saying, “I think it’s normal for people to have different reactions to such things. Some will mock it, some won’t believe it, and some will enjoy it. That’s what makes the world colorful. If everyone responded sympathetically, the world would be very boring. I understood that, so there’s no need to react.”
Regarding his personal security, Saif also shared that he does not keep a gun or any weapons at home. When asked why he doesn’t own a gun, he stated, “I think a child might end up using it, and then more problems would arise.” He added, “In the Pataudi family, everyone has guns, including royals and people from Rajasthan. They’ve all sent me messages saying they can’t believe the person got away with it.”
Saif further shared a personal anecdote about his father, who kept a shotgun next to his bed. However, he noted, “Sometimes I feel that accidents happen because the gun is there, and children might play with it or who knows what could happen.”
Saif’s candid responses have cleared the air around the attack and highlighted his perspective on personal safety and the public’s reaction to high-profile incidents.
