Rupee Strengthens as Dollar Declines in Interbank Market
Karachi: The Pakistani rupee gained strength against the US dollar in the interbank market on the first trading day of the week. According to currency dealers, the value of the rupee improved as the dollar became 10 paisa cheaper during the trading session. The US dollar traded at 277.66 PKR in the interbank market.
In addition, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a significant rise in its 100-index, which gained 1,180 points during the day. The index was seen trading at 98,979 points. On the previous business day, the 100-index had surged by more than 2,000 points at one point, reaching a new all-time high of 99,632 points before closing with an overall gain of 469 points at 97,978 points.
