Quetta:The spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, has dismissed rumors of firing by security forces in Mastung as unsubstantiated. He emphasized that any information suggesting otherwise is misleading and aims to disrupt the peace and stability in the region.
“There is no truth to the rumors of firing by security forces. The situation in Balochistan is stable, and attempts to portray otherwise are detrimental,” said Shahid Rind.
He reiterated that while peaceful protests are everyone’s right, no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands. “The aspirations behind demonstrations in Gwadar are clear, but they must adhere to legal frameworks,” he added.
Shahid Rind also extended an invitation to the Baloch Unity Council for dialogue to resolve issues through peaceful means. Women legislators in the Balochistan Assembly have also called for negotiations. Chief Minister Balochistan, Sardar Faraz Bugti, has outlined the government’s policy in the Assembly, recognizing the right to peaceful protest but emphasizing the administration’s authority in selecting protest locations.
Shahid Rind stressed that it is the responsibility of local administration to determine protest locations, once again inviting the Baloch Unity Council for negotiations with the government.
