Rohit Sharma Files Complaint Against Sunil Gavaskar Over Criticism

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has reportedly filed a formal complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) against legendary former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar following persistent criticism of his performances. The complaint comes after Sharma’s underwhelming show during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, where he faced significant challenges both as a batsman and as a captain.
In the three Test matches of the series, Sharma scored only 31 runs, and under his leadership, India suffered a 1-3 loss to Australia, which eliminated them from contention for the Test Championship final. Following this disappointing performance, Gavaskar heavily criticized Sharma’s batting and captaincy, even questioning his future in red-ball cricket. Gavaskar went as far as suggesting that it might be time for a change in leadership for the betterment of the Indian team.
According to Indian media reports, Sharma was unhappy with this criticism, feeling it was unwarranted. Sources close to the captain revealed that he found Gavaskar’s comments unnecessary and, in response, decided to file a complaint against him with the BCCI.
This situation has raised questions regarding the relationship between senior cricketers and the current team management, as well as the dynamics within Indian cricket.
