Rizwan Praised for Speaking in Urdu During Toss, Video Goes Viral

Karachi – In the third match of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan won hearts with his decision to speak in Urdu instead of English during the toss.
The match, held at National Bank Stadium, saw Multan Sultans facing off against Karachi Kings in a high-scoring encounter. Rizwan led from the front with an unbeaten 105-run innings, including 9 fours and 5 sixes, setting a massive target of 235 for Karachi Kings.
However, Karachi Kings’ batter James Vince turned the game around with a blistering 101 off 43 balls, smashing 14 fours and 4 sixes to snatch victory from the Sultans.
Prior to the match, during the toss, Rizwan politely declined to speak in English, saying, “I would prefer to speak in Urdu.” He then conducted the rest of the toss conversation in his native language.
Fans and viewers praised his confidence and pride in speaking Urdu, and the video of the moment has since gone viral on social media.
It’s worth noting that during a pre-match press conference, Rizwan was asked about his English skills, to which he humbly responded, “I try my best, but English is not my mother tongue, so it’s difficult. From now on, I will try to speak in Urdu.”
Rizwan’s gesture has sparked widespread appreciation for promoting the national language on an international platform.
