Islamabad:Residents of Azad Kashmir have received heartening news as a series of surgeries using device closure techniques have begun for infants afflicted with congenital heart defects in the valley.
For the first time in Azad Kashmir’s history, the closure of congenital heart defects in infants is being achieved through the use of a device called the “Duct Occluder” in Muzaffarabad.
Congenital heart defects, which affect the hearts of infants from birth, not only cause distress to parents but also bring enduring sorrow to entire families. However, at a private hospital in Azad Kashmir, hope has been reignited with the successful operations of six infants without the need for open-heart surgery.
Local sources emphasize that patients at this hospital are never turned away due to financial constraints. The hospital management ensures that donations from benevolent individuals cover the costs of treatment and care for distressed patients.
