Relief for Low-Income and Middle-Class Pilgrims: Government Proposes Installment Payments for Hajj Expenses
Islamabad: The government has decided to provide relief to low-income and middle-class pilgrims intending to perform Hajj. A proposal for the payment of Hajj expenses in installments has been submitted to the federal cabinet.
If the cabinet approves the proposal, pilgrims will be able to pay the required amount in three installments instead of a lump sum. According to the proposal, a total of 1.1 million rupees will be collected from pilgrims in three installments. Interested individuals can apply by paying an initial amount of 200,000 rupees. Upon selection in the lottery, they will need to submit an additional 400,000 rupees, with the remaining balance due before departure for Hajj.
Sources from the Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that the aim of offering installment payments is to provide relief to the lower and middle classes.
