Quetta:The family members of Zahid Ahmed, who has been forcibly disappeared from Quetta, have revealed that he had been diligently working at his government office for the past fifteen years, as evidenced by attendance records maintained at his workplace. They accused authorities of attempting to distort facts through misinformation.
Zahid Ahmed was reported missing from Quetta under suspicious circumstances. His family members assert that his presence at his government job can be verified through office records, which can be corroborated with anyone working alongside him.
“We have been staging a peaceful protest for the past twelve days, demanding answers regarding Zahid Ahmed’s enforced disappearance. However, an FIR regarding his disappearance has not been filed yet,” lamented the family members, referring to the use of baton charges and tear gas shelling by police on peaceful protesters the previous day.
“After forcibly disappearing our loved one, they have also deprived us of our right to peaceful protest. Moreover, there is an attempt to distort facts through disinformation,” they added.
The family members affirmed their resolve to continue their protest until Zahid Ahmed is safely recovered under secure conditions.
