Rana Sanaullah Responds to PTI’s Demands for Judicial Commission, Questions Validity of 26th November Investigation

Islamabad:A member of the government’s negotiating committee, Rana Sanaullah, has raised questions over the demand made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for a judicial commission to investigate the events of 9th May and 26th November, specifically questioning whether a commission should be set up to examine the actions of a provincial government that allegedly launched an attack on the federal government.

Speaking on *Geo News*’s program *Naya Pakistan*, Rana Sanaullah responded to PTI’s demands during the second round of negotiations between the government and PTI. He said, “Should we form a commission to investigate the events of 26th November, when a provincial government brought a mob and attacked the federation?”

He further questioned PTI’s demand for the release of political prisoners, including the founding chairman of PTI, and noted that PTI had requested that demands be presented in writing at the next meeting. PTI had also asked for a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of 9th May and 26th November.

Rana Sanaullah continued, “During the rally at Chungi Number 26, participants opened fire indiscriminately. Should we now form a commission to investigate whether a provincial government brought a mob to attack the federation?”

He also responded to PTI’s demand to appoint specific judges to the proposed judicial commission, saying, “If PTI demands certain judges to be included, it would only serve to make those judges controversial. If PTI insists on such a demand, then we will also have to consider it.”

Additionally, Rana Sanaullah revealed that the PTI negotiating committee had not provided the government’s committee with the list of 45 allegedly missing or 13 martyrs, as claimed by PTI. The lack of this list remains a point of contention between the two sides in the ongoing talks.
