Islamabad: Rana Sanaullah, Special Adviser on Political and Public Affairs to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has responded to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s message to Army Chief General Asim Munir, stating that it holds no importance and should not be trusted. Khan’s recent communication from Adiala Jail alleging the government’s desire to create discord between PTI and the military, along with preparations for early elections, was also disregarded by Sanaullah.
In a televised interview, Rana Sanaullah highlighted that Imran Khan himself admitted to inciting protests outside GHQ in the past, diminishing the credibility of his current statements. He accused PTI of resorting to such rhetoric to divert attention from their own shortcomings and missteps since May 9, questioning who would believe them after their previous statements and propaganda.
Sanaullah further remarked that such attempts by PTI to malign the Army Chief and the Pakistan Army would not succeed. He emphasized that their actions are merely a facade to conceal their own failures and political agenda, which he believes will not resonate with the public or credible institutions.
Regarding recent judicial decisions and discussions in private meetings, Sanaullah expressed concern over attempts to influence public opinion by linking judicial verdicts to private gatherings of PTI leadership. He cautioned against such maneuvers, stating that the rule of law and judicial independence must be respected, irrespective of political affiliations or narratives.
The political atmosphere in Pakistan remains charged, with accusations and counter-accusations echoing across various platforms. As the Supreme Court’s decisions and the conduct of public figures continue to be scrutinized, Rana Sanaullah urged for a focus on democratic principles and constructive dialogue to resolve national issues, rather than confrontation and division.
