Quetta:The National Highway Authority has decided to open Panjgur Bridge in Bolan district for public transport, bringing good news for the residents of Balochistan. The reconstruction work of Panjgur Bridge, costing 55 crore rupees, has been completed, and accordingly, it has been decided to open the bridge for public transport from August 1.
GM NHA Agha Enayat informed that Panjgur Bridge was washed away during the floods of 2022, and its reconstruction started in October last year. The 80 feet high bridge has been reconstructed in four phases with a total cost of 55 crore rupees.
According to GM NHA, the previous government had announced the completion of the bridge’s construction in March, but due to seasonal conditions in Bolan, there was a delay of four months in its completion.
GM NHA further stated that Panjgur Bridge will be opened for public transport from August 1, and it will be operational for traffic unless there is a flood situation in Bolan River during monsoon rains.
