Quetta Launches Crackdown on Dilapidated Buses

Quetta:A large-scale crackdown has been initiated in the city against substandard and dilapidated buses, resulting in the confiscation of 25 such buses. During this campaign, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Chairman has canceled the route permits of 197 commercial vehicles out of the 370 local buses operating in the city.

SSP Traffic Bahram Khan Mandokhel stated that the action against old and unfit buses will continue to ensure the safety of commuters. He emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to improve traffic conditions in the city. He further added that strict actions would also be taken against illegal vehicles, underage drivers, and vehicles operating without licenses.

“The protection of citizens’ lives and property on the road is our top priority,” said SSP Mandokhel.

Authorities have clarified that the objective of this crackdown is to prevent traffic accidents, reduce the number of substandard vehicles on the roads, and provide better travel facilities to the public. Citizens have appreciated the traffic police’s efforts and have urged that these actions be continued on a permanent basis to further improve the traffic system in Quetta.
