Quetta: A large funeral prayer in absentia was offered for the slain national poet Gilaman Wazir, where workers from the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) and Awami National Party (ANP) participated in significant numbers. The funeral prayer took place at Quetta Municipal Corporation’s greenbelt, with hundreds of participants including former provincial minister Obaidullah Babat and Nasrullah Zere.
During the occasion, Obaidullah Babat and Nasrullah Zere addressed the gathering, expressing their dismay over the unresolved murder of Gilaman Wazir, who was brutally killed after incidents of violence. They emphasized that despite the identification of the perpetrators, they have not yet been apprehended. They urged the law enforcement agencies to immediately arrest those involved in the murder of Gilaman Wazir and ensure they receive appropriate punishment.
Apart from workers of PkMAP and ANP, many citizens of Quetta attended the funeral prayer, offering prayers that Allah grant Gilaman Wazir a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdous (the highest paradise) and grant patience to his bereaved family and loved ones.
