Quetta:In a significant development, an FIR has been filed against the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) regarding the disappearance of Zahid Ahmed, as confirmed by local newspaper Qudrat. This follows negotiations between Quetta protesters and government representatives held late last night.
Dr. Maah Rung Baloch, spokesperson for the protest organizers, disclosed that discussions during the negotiations focused on the enforced disappearance of Zahid Ahmed, resulting in the FIR against FIDH. On July 11th, 21 demonstrators were taken into custody, with 15 released recently. The remaining 6 individuals are scheduled for court hearings tomorrow, where their release is anticipated.
Furthermore, it was declared that all cases against peaceful protesters from July 11th would be withdrawn. Dr. Maah Rung Baloch also announced the formation of a committee comprising Zahid Ahmed’s relatives to facilitate his recovery within 15 days. If unsuccessful, supporters have pledged to resume their protests.
