Quetta: Family Appeals for the Immediate Recovery of Missing Social Worker Nasir Qambarani

Quetta residents:Kokab Nasir Qambarani**, **Noshin Qambarani**, **Haseeba Qambarani**, and **Sharin Nasir Qambarani** have made a public appeal to the government, urging for the immediate recovery of their father, **Nasir Qambarani**, and other missing persons. They warned that if their loved ones are not brought back, they will be forced to block national highways in protest, holding the responsible authorities accountable for any consequences.

They shared these thoughts during a press conference at the **Quetta Press Club** on Wednesday. According to the family, on the night of **March 17**, security forces along with plainclothes personnel raided their home and forcibly disappeared their father, **Nasir Qambarani**, a well-known social worker. The family emphasized that **Nasir Qambarani** has done no wrong and had already been forcibly disappeared for three years in the past, during which his health deteriorated, leaving him suffering from various illnesses. The family expressed serious concerns over his health now as well.

“These three days feel like three years for us,” the family stated, urging **human rights organizations**, the **judiciary**, and the **government** to take immediate notice of this situation and ensure the safe return of **Nasir Qambarani**.

They also mentioned that other members of their family, **Jowad, Abrar, Zia-ur-Rehman, Fazal-ur-Rehman, Ali Asghar, Bilal Ahmed**, and **Abdul Rahman** (Nasir’s cousin) were also taken by security forces in the past few days. The family asked the authorities to provide evidence if they have any, and if their relatives are guilty of any crime, they should be prosecuted in accordance with the law. If not, they demanded their immediate release, stressing the need for justice.

The family condemned the ongoing pattern of **forced disappearances** and **fake encounters** in **Balochistan**, calling on the authorities to either release their loved ones or present them in court. They warned that if their relatives are not released, they will be forced to block national highways as a form of protest, and any consequences arising from this action would fall squarely on the responsible authorities.
