“Pushpa 2: The Rule” Breaks Records with Biggest Opening for an Indian Film
Mumbai: Allu Arjun’s long-awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule has made a thunderous entry at the box office, setting a new record for the highest opening day earnings in Indian cinema history. The film grossed ₹175.1 crore net on its first day, surpassing the previous record held by S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR.
The majority of Pushpa 2’s earnings came from the Telugu version, which brought in ₹95.1 crore, while the Hindi version contributed ₹67 crore. The Tamil version earned ₹7 crore, Malayalam ₹5 crore, and the Kannada version ₹1 crore. The Telugu screenings saw an impressive 82.66% occupancy rate, with night shows reaching a remarkable 90.19%.
In Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun reprises his iconic role as Pushpa Raj, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil portrays Bhavwan Singh Shekhawat. Directed by Sukumar, the film’s plot centers around the smuggling of red sandalwood.
Experts predict that Pushpa 2 could gross over ₹250 crore by the end of the weekend. The film is not only being praised for its gripping storyline but also for its action sequences, music, and Allu Arjun’s outstanding performance, which have made it incredibly popular among fans.
