Punjab to Introduce Riot Management Police Force
Lahore: In a bid to control violent protests and incidents of arson, the Punjab government has decided to introduce a Riot Management Police Force.
According to police sources, the new force, operating under the name “Riot Management Team,” will consist of 200 officers. The team will be divided into 15 units, each tasked with a specific role. These units will include a Mob Control Unit, Water Cannon Unit, Rubber Bullet Unit, and a Stun Gun Unit.
Further details indicate that the Riot Management Team will also utilize specially trained dogs to assist in crowd control. Additionally, the team will be equipped with modern technology, including surveillance drones, electric shock shields, advanced vehicles, and 25 other types of equipment.
The new force will have legal powers to carry out operations, ensuring effective management of law and order during protests and civil unrest.
