Punjab Introduces New Subject Groups in Matriculation Curriculum

Islamabad:The Punjab education system has undergone a significant change with the addition of new subject groups in the matriculation curriculum. Starting from the new academic year, subjects such as Allied Health Sciences, Agriculture, Information Technology, and Entrepreneurship will be included in the matriculation syllabus.

Secretary of School Education Punjab, Khalid Nazir, announced that schools offering Health Sciences courses will be located near DHQ (District Headquarters) and THQ (Tehsil Headquarters) hospitals to provide practical exposure.

He also clarified that the total number of marks for the matriculation exams will remain 1100, and students will choose their subject group at the beginning of the 9th grade.
