Lahore:Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari has launched a scathing attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, stating, “You had to flee from the rioting group, so just run away.”
In her statement, Bukhari accused Gandapur of using state resources for thuggery, asserting that he returned without even entering Punjab, showcasing the effectiveness of the Punjab Chief Minister’s governance.
She emphasized that the Punjab government knows how to assert its authority, declaring that there will be no room for lawlessness in the province and that the rule of law will prevail.
Earlier, Bukhari also remarked that Gandapur was coming to Punjab with his private militia and modern weaponry. This comes in light of Gandapur’s announcement to participate in the PTI protest at Liaquat Bagh, which ultimately saw him turn back from Burhan Interchange, instructing his supporters to return as well.
The announcement sparked severe protests among PTI workers, who surrounded the vehicles of assembly members and ministers, demanding that they return only after making their voices heard. The workers confronted Gandapur’s convoy, insisting, “You’re not going anywhere,” which led to a heated exchange.
PTI supporters have declared their intention to stage a sit-in near Burhan Interchange, demanding that Chief Minister Gandapur join them in Rawalpindi regardless of the circumstances.
