Punjab Government Simplifies Vehicle Registration Process, Citizens Can Register Cars Anywhere in the Province

The Punjab government has made the vehicle registration process easier for citizens by allowing them to register their cars in any district of the province. On Wednesday, the Punjab Cabinet approved an amendment to Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance Act 1965.

Previously, under Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance Act 1965, vehicle owners were required to register their vehicles in their respective districts. However, with the recent amendment, citizens can now register their vehicles in any district across Punjab.

According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Excise Department, vehicle registration numbers are being allotted across the province in a series, and there will be no restrictions on the movement of vehicles between provinces. This change aims to facilitate the registration process and make it more convenient for the public.
