Punjab Government Approves Purchase of Luxury Vehicles for Chinese Security
Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the purchase of luxury vehicles for the security of Chinese nationals involved in various projects in the region. A budget of 500 million Pakistani Rupees has been allocated for this purpose.
According to government sources, the federal government had previously acquired 23 luxury vehicles in 2016 for the security of Chinese and other VIPs. Since then, the number of Chinese projects, including those under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has increased, leading to a shortage of vehicles for security personnel.
To address this issue, the Punjab government has decided to procure 2021 model BMW vehicles, which will be bulletproof and of original manufacture, ensuring the safety of Chinese workers and projects in the province.
