Islamabad:The Punjab government has recently made significant amendments to the Civil Service Rules, with one of the notable changes being the abolition of Rule 17A, originally established in 1974.
Previously, Rule 17A allowed the children or dependents of government employees who passed away during service to secure government employment through the Service Quota. With the abolishment of this rule, family members of deceased government employees will no longer be eligible for such employment benefits.
This policy change marks a crucial shift, affecting many families who relied on this provision to secure employment protection following the loss of a loved one in government service.
