Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Thanks Public for Rejecting PTI’s Protest, Orders Action to Ease Public Hardships
Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for causing unrest, calling the party “a source of chaos and disruption,” and thanked the people of Punjab for not supporting PTI’s protest march in Islamabad.
In a statement released on Wednesday, after the conclusion of PTI’s protest march, Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude to the people of Punjab for staying away from the “troublemakers.” She acknowledged the public’s decision to reject the protests, emphasizing that the people had made the right choice in not participating in the disruption caused by PTI.
The Punjab CM also ordered the opening of all internal and external roads in the province that were blocked due to the protest. She directed the administration to ensure the continuous supply of essential goods and food items, stressing the need for regular distribution to prevent shortages.
In her statement, Maryam Nawaz took a further step to address public grievances by instructing the administration to control the prices of essential commodities. She stated that she understood the difficulties faced by the public due to the disruptions caused by the protests and assured that the government would take necessary actions to alleviate the burden.
“While we are deeply sorry for the inconveniences caused to the public because of PTI’s protests, we are committed to ensuring the smooth functioning of daily life for the people of Punjab,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz also expressed her regret over the hardship faced by the public, especially due to the obstacles created by the protest, and reassured citizens that the government would prioritize restoring normalcy and easing their difficulties.
